The year 2023 is coming to an end, which certainly cannot be called successful for the Ivanovo Tekstilshchik. In the spring, the team from Ivanovo played in Group No. 2 and for a long time lay claim to a promotion and a long-awaited return to the First League, but competitors from St. Petersburg, Murom and Kostroma turned out to be stronger. In the fall, Tekstilshchik upset its fans for the second time in a row and failed to qualify for the Golden Division, finishing only in 5th place. Tekstilshchik let the Chelyabinsk players go ahead of them.
Two failures in a row forced the management of Tekstilshchik to think about changes. The first to fall under the measures of change, as many believe, was the main culprit in the failure of Tekstilshchik – Igor Kolyvanov. The domestic specialist took charge of Tekstilshchik in the summer of 2022 and wanted to immediately enter the First League, but twice in a row he was unable to complete the task. In December, Igor Kolyvanova was really close to resignation, but the management of Tekstilshchik could not find the right candidate.
Let us remind you that the Tekstilshchik players will play the first matches of the spring part of the 2023-2024 season on March 2-3.
