The majority of Russians support the abolition of the Unified State Exam

Almost two-thirds of Russians have a negative attitude towards the unified state exam and believe that it should be abolished, showed survey research center of the Superjob portal. Among parents of 10th and 11th grade students who are directly faced with taking the exam, there are even more opponents of the Unified State Exam – the share of negative answers is approaching 80%. But among school teachers, only 59% of respondents expressed a negative attitude. At the same time, the number of teacher critics decreased year on year (from 63%). Probably, the decrease in negative responses among teachers was influenced by the president’s decision to give graduates the opportunity to retake one of the exams in the same year, the authors of the study note.
