Scottish Government executive body Creative Scotland has awarded £84,555 to director Leonie Rae Gasson to develop a film project called Harness.

The team working on the film is promising a fee of £270 per day for participation in “non-simulation” sex, including “hardcore” action.

The “multi-screen moving image installation” was first announced by Creative Scotland as “a new immersive three-screen installation combining moving image, multi-sensory scenic design, dance and sex.”

The project will require performers to not only demonstrate their dancing and acting skills, but also engage in “kissing,” “vanilla sex,” and “hardcore action.” Some scenes, for example, will show “naked lovers frolicking in the tall grass.”

For ticket holders, the project promises a climax at the end, including a “secret cave sex party” with video clips of explicit sex acts. Director Leonie Rae Gasson, who has worked with the National Theater of Scotland, is looking for performers over 18 with “experience of sex work, particularly in a porn context.”

People can audition for four roles: “Princess”, “Daddy”, “Daddy-O” and “Cave”.

The website states that the princess role will require a small dance routine and they are looking for “divas who want to be watched.”

Other roles are described below, with hints to those auditioning to “think leather and tool belts” for “Daddy.”

Gasson states that the project is also looking for a “thick, strong” person who can play Daddy-O with a “strong look.”

Cave performers are also sought after for those performing in “porn or on camera” roles, as they will be the only actors filming explicit scenes.

Feminist campaigners and politicians have criticized the Scottish Government’s funding decision, while Creative Scotland is now reviewing its funding.

Conservative MP Murdo Fraser fumes at X: “Is our government giving our money to pornographers?”

Scottish Conservative deputy leader Megan Gallagher said: “Scottish Government ministers must make clear that strict procedures were followed before handing over taxpayer money to the show.” The Scottish Government said funding decisions were made independently by the arts body.

Campaign group For Women in Scotland said: “It appears that organizations supported by the Scottish Government are keen to spend money on projects that dehumanize women. If they make porn on the state budget, who signed up for it? The public will be outraged.”
