Nikita Kiryanov, a graduate of the Yaroslavl hockey school, a young forward of Lokomotiv, was recognized as the best newcomer of the week in the KHL at the end of the week. Kiryanov became the leader of the Continental Hockey League rating based on the results of the past week and his brilliant performance in the matches with Amur and Avangard.
“The forward scored 2 points (1 goal + 1 assist) in three matches of the game week. In the match with Amur, Nikita scored his first goal in the KHL, converting the winning shootout in overtime. And the forward made a pass the day before – in the match with Avangard, after his shot, Ivan Chekhovich corrected the puck into the Omsk goal,” the club’s official release states.
Nikita Kiryanov is spending his first season with the KHL club.
