The Liberal Democratic Party and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation doubt the expediency of raising the tax for those who left

The first deputies of the heads of the Communist Party and the Liberal Democratic Party factions in the State Duma, Nikolai Kolomeitsev and Sergei Leonov, are not sure about the advisability of raising tax rates for citizens who have left Russia. The corresponding initiative was proposed to be considered by the speaker of the lower house, Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Those who left are the result (of the work of the system) of education for 20 years. Removed from there “Young Guard”, “How the steel was tempered.” And now blame the mirror? We believe that this is a PR initiative … Create conditions so that they want to return. There are IT people for the most part. I don’t think that this measure will bring people back or help us instill in them the spirit of patriotism,” said Mr. Kolomeitsev (quoted from “RIA News”).
Deputy head of the LDPR faction Sergei Leonov in an interview with “RIA News” announced the need to be more careful in implementing the initiative of Mr. Volodin, because there is a risk of “losing specialists” who work abroad in the interests of their country. In relation to such citizens, “it is not necessary to introduce restrictions and additional taxation,” the deputy added.
“Politically, the proposal sounds good. Practically it is necessary to weigh this situation 10 times. We will be very careful about this. We will hold events with companies that conduct such activities,” Mr. Leonov noted.
Earlier today, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin offered to raise taxes for those who left Russia, and the possibility of canceling tax benefits for them is also being discussed. According to him, now those who have left the country “not only work in Russian companies remotely, but also enjoy all the benefits that it gives them.”
