King Charles III of Great Britain first addressed the nation in honor of Christmas. The King’s speech was reportedly recorded in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip are buried there.
Charles III at the beginning expressed his gratitude to the people who, in the difficult days of the outgoing year, wrote words of support to him and Queen Consort Camilla.
In his speech, he noted that the basis of society is the belief in the extraordinary ability of each person to bring light into the lives of others.
The power of light to overcome darkness is celebrated beyond the bounds of faith, he stressed, making the thought the leitmotif of his first address. Charles III urged everyone to enjoy the holiday, wishing peace, happiness and eternal light.
