The level of herd immunity to coronavirus in Russia dropped to 7.4%

Collective immunity to COVID-19 in Russia as of August 12 decreased from 8.6% to 7.4%, follows from data operational headquarters. At the beginning of summer it was 31%. In Moscow, the figure dropped to 1.9% – on August 5 it was 3.4%. In St. Petersburg, the level of herd immunity is 10.6%.
Today, August 12, 27,810 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected. This is the highest reading since March. Over the past day, 14,320 people have recovered, 2,619 have been hospitalized, and 57 have died.
The day before, August 11, in Russia revealed six cases of the new hybrid COVID-19 – “deltacron”. This hybrid was found only in Russia.
Rospotrebnadzor does not consider necessary to impose restrictive measures, but recommended vulnerable groups to wear medical masks in public places. Experts declaredthat the peak incidence in Russia will fall in the fall of this year. The Ministry of Health recommended the Russians to be revaccinated.
