The editorial board of the Russian social movement “Left Bloc” announced in Telegram about the cessation of the website and pages on social networks.
“The website and other resources on social networks are moving into an archive state. Today, the struggle is no less relevant than it was during the founding of the LB – but, as it seems to us, now this project has exhausted its resources and the only correct decision today would be to announce its closure,” the Left Bloc said in a statement. .
The editorial board noted that the “Left Bloc” throughout its activities focused on street politics, but due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and the start of the military operation in Ukraine in 2022, the movement’s offline activities became virtually unrealistic.
The “Left Bloc” was formed in 2015, after a conflict within the oppositionist Sergei Udaltsov’s “Left Front” movement. The “Left Bloc” united representatives of left and extreme left views. The task of the movement was declared to be the coordination of the activities of opposition left forces, and the goal was the creation of a classless society. Activists of the movement have repeatedly held actions and rallies, pickets and marches.
