The first launch of the Angara-A5 rocket from the Vostochny Cosmodrome was canceled for the second time in a row. This was said in broadcasts “Roscosmos”.

“A start cancellation command has been issued. Work managers should prepare for a 24-hour stop,” the announcer said.

The launch was initially planned to take place on April 9 at 12:00 Moscow time, but it was canceled due to a glitch. The reason for the cancellation of the launch, the head of Roscosmos Yuri Borisov, cited a failure of the pressurization system of the oxidizer tank of the central unit. The launch was postponed exactly one day – to 12:00 Moscow time on April 10.

Angara-A5 is the first rocket completely developed and created in Russia after the collapse of the USSR. It belongs to the family of modular-type launch vehicles (allows you to build on blocks of launch vehicle stages) with oxygen-kerosene engines. This rocket can launch from 3 to 7.5 tons of payload into orbit. It was assumed that in the future the Angara family of rockets will replace Proton launch vehicles. The main customer of the family of these missiles is the Ministry of Defense.

The news is being updated.
