The Kyokushin to School project reached hundreds of children on Sakhalin

In 2022, the “Kyokushin to School” project was launched in the Far East, thanks to which today schoolchildren in 44 schools in all regions of the Far Eastern Federal District are engaged in this type of karate in additional physical education lessons. In the Sakhalin region, the project involved hundreds of children.

The “Kyokushin to School” project was launched on the initiative of three-time world champion in Kyokushin karate Khaid Mantaev with the support of the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, holder of the 7th dan of Kyokushin, co-chairman of the Russian Union of Martial Arts Yuri Trutnev.

“Harmonious personal development is impossible without sports. Martial arts not only strengthen the body, but also develop character, the ability to overcome difficulties, and strengthen the strength of spirit. More and more young men and women are embarking on the path of mastering martial arts, which makes our country stronger every year. The “Kyokushin to School” project has already shown demand – several thousand students are involved in this sport and get used to training from an early age. I am sure that all the acquired skills will be useful in life and will help to become worthy citizens of Russia,” said Yuri Trutnev.

Classes are held once a week as an additional physical education lesson in primary school. It is important that they are taught by certified physical education teachers who have been trained according to a specially developed program and are qualified as a Kyokushinkai trainer-teacher.

“Kyokushin to school” is not only karate. This is primarily an educational and educational project. According to the head of the Kyokushin to School project, Khaid Mantaev, the main task is to draw the attention of schoolchildren to discipline and philosophy. It is important that children are spiritually strong, and not just physically, that they show respect for their elders, their mentor, and cultivate discipline in themselves.

Moreover, the project is quickly gaining momentum and plans to expand beyond the Far East, covering the entire territory of our country. Currently, this sport has every chance of being included in the register of sports recommended for teaching in all schools in Russia. The Kyokushiknai module is currently awaiting its expert opinion from the Ministry of Education in order to stand on par with other sports that have the right to life in schools.

Let us add that throughout the Sakhalin region, about 87 thousand children and adolescents devote time and energy to sports training. The social project “Sports to School” also contributes to the involvement of young islanders in sports, which includes training in cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, skating, swimming, sambo, kyokushin, parachuting and other sports. Today, more than 20 thousand residents of the region are involved in sports under this program.
