The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (recognized as terrorist in Turkey) claimed responsibility for the attempted terrorist attack in the center of Ankara, transmits Turkish TV channel A Haber.
On the morning of October 1, an explosion occurred near the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs building in the center of Ankara. As the head of the department, Ali Yerlikaya, reported, the attack was carried out by two terrorists, one of whom committed a self-detonation, the second was neutralized. Two police officers were injured.
The Ankara prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation. As the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified, a decision was made to deny access and prohibit publications about the terrorist attack.
On November 14, 2022, a terrorist attack occurred in the center of Istanbul, which claimed the lives of six people and injured more than 80. Among the victims were three Russians. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the time that “attempts to take over Turkey and the Turkish people through terrorism will not work.”
