The Kremlin reacted normally to the frank stories of the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko about a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and negotiations with the founder of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin. The Belarusian leader also warnedthat Minsk will defend Moscow, and Prigozhin “will be crushed halfway through like a bug.” According to experts interviewed by Vedomosti, the President of Belarus thus wants to look like a beneficiary of the events and declare his role in the “peacekeeping” agenda.

On the night of June 24, an armed rebellion was attempted in Russia by PMC Wagner and Prigozhin. In the evening, the Kremlin reported on the agreements reached to de-escalate the situation: the PMC would return to the field camps, the criminal case against Prigozhin would be dropped, and he would move to Belarus. On June 27, the FSB announced the termination of the criminal case.
