The Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus opened a case against Lithuania for crimes against migrants
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus announced the initiation of a criminal case against Lithuanian statesmen. Information about this appeared on the website of the supervisory authority.
The reason for initiating the case was illegal deportation, as well as the commission of acts of cruelty towards foreigners.
The Prosecutor General’s Office believes that the Lithuanian authorities have been carrying out illegal activities over the past years, which are aimed at creating difficulties for migrants in exercising their refugee rights. Such behavior, according to Belarus, is a violation of international treaties.
In addition, the authors of the publication emphasize that the result of such actions was the death of at least 10 migrants.
