Russia had nothing to do with Wagner’s business in Africa. This was announced by the press secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

According to Peskov, the company ran an independent business there, to which “the state had nothing to do.”

June 27 Russian President Vladimir Putin toldthat the maintenance of PMC “Wagner” was fully provided by the state – for the year the authorities paid the military company over 86 billion rubles. According to him, the owner of the Concord company (the holding company of the founder of PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin) earned 80 billion rubles from the state through Voentorg, supplying food and providing food services to the army. Putin expressed the hope that no one had stolen anything. He also noted that “this will be dealt with.”

In 2019, the American television channel CNN published an investigation into the activities of companies associated with Prigozhin. For a month, reporters of the TV channel collected information in the Central African Republic, and also examined documents confirming Prigozhin’s connection with the republic. The day before, June 27, USA introduced sanctions against two companies from the Central African Republic, according to OFAC, due to their connection with Prigozhin.

On the night of June 24, an armed rebellion was attempted in Russia by Wagner PMC and its founder Yevgeny Prigozhin. In the evening, the Kremlin reported on the agreements reached with the founder of the PMC to de-escalate the situation, in which Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko played a key role.
