Peskov: “sanitary zone” will protect Russia from shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with long-range weapons
Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the creation of a “sanitary zone” in the special operation zone without military infrastructure in order to protect civilians from shelling and bombing carried out by the Kyiv regime. This was announced on Wednesday by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, adding that this is necessary to ensure the safety of the civilian population.
According to a Kremlin spokesman, if the Kyiv regime uses more long-range weapons, the military infrastructure will have to be moved to a sanitary distance.
The issue of creating a “sanitary zone” will be considered if arrivals through Russia continue, Putin said earlier. However, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev believes that such a demilitarized zone should pass along the borders of Lviv, and military expert Igor Korotchenko suggested that the “sanitary zone” could extend into the territory of Ukraine to a depth of 150 kilometers due to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
