The Kremlin called the return of Azov commanders to Ukraine a violation of agreements

The return of five commanders of the nationalist association “Azov” (recognized as terrorist in Russia and prohibited) from Turkey to Ukraine is a violation of the agreements on the part of Kyiv and Ankara, declared Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov in a commentary to RIA Novosti.
Peskov explained that, in accordance with the agreements, they had to remain in Turkey until the end of the conflict, which means that both Ukraine and Turkey violated the agreement.
On the return of Azov commanders earlier today informed President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Russia and Ukraine in September last year, with the mediation of Turkey, held an exchange of prisoners. According to the Ukrainian side, Moscow handed over 215 people to Kyiv, including more than a hundred fighters and five Azov commanders, as well as ten mercenaries. Russia was transferred, including Ukrainian businessman and politician Viktor Medvedchuk.
Zelensky then wrote in his Telegram channel that the Azov commanders who returned from captivity would remain in Turkey until the end of hostilities in Ukraine. Turkish newspaper Hürriyet later reported in January that this was a Russian demand.
