The Kremlin reacted to the words of the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev about those who left Russia. Today he wrotethat the Russians who left the country and call for its defeat in the conflict with Ukraine should be recognized as “public enemies”, cut off from sources of income in Russia and deprived of the opportunity to return to it.
“It is also about those who violate our legislation, violate our laws. And, of course, those who violate our laws, they must be held accountable for this. You know that now in general there are quite emotional moments, of course. A lot of people show their civic position, including Dmitry Anatolyevich,” commented Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of Russia, on Mr. Medvedev’s Telegram post.
Former State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin announced the development by the Parliament of a draft law on the abolition of preferences and an increase in taxes for Russians who left the country and work remotely in Russian companies. According to the speaker of the State Duma, Russian citizens who prefer to live in another state have “fled” – and most Russians consider them traitors to the country and their families.
