The Knowledge Society has begun selecting nominees for its educational award

More than six thousand – such a record number of applications came this year for the educational Prize “Knowledge”, which is held by the Russian Society “Knowledge”. According to the organizers of the competition – this figure is twice as much as last year. The largest number of applications came from Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, the Krasnodar Territory, Sverdlovsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk regions.

To be more precise in numbers, 6347 nominees from 84 regions of the country claim the title of “educator of the year” or “best educational project”.

As the General Director of the Russian Society “Knowledge” Maxim Dreval noted, at present, educational projects in the field of culture, art, science, history, social sphere, youth volunteering, ecology, education are most in demand in the society.

– Some of the projects nominated for the Prize are devoted to the preservation and study of the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia: literature, music, crafts, traditions. Among scientific and educational projects, much attention is paid to the study and exploration of space, nuclear energy, and neurotechnologies. The theme of the Great Patriotic War is the most popular in the historical block. Among the applications in this nomination there are not only traditional lectures, books and educational films, but also multimedia projects, virtual tours of historical places, historical comics, web-animated series, blogs,” Maxim Dreval explained.

By the way, the largest number of applications, more than 1,000, were received in the nomination “For Contribution to Education in the Field of “Culture and art”. Also, almost eight hundred applications came for such nominations: “For contribution to education in the field of Science and Technology”, “For contribution to education in the field of “We Are Together”. More than seven hundred applications came for the nomination “For contribution to education in the field of” History “.

If we talk about the format of the projects submitted for the competition, then the nominees offer presentations, flash mobs, mobile applications, online lectures and video tutorials, regional art weekends, running and cycling excursions, and the creation of an ethno-cultural educational network.

At the first stage, applications will be evaluated by an Expert Commission, which will include more than 150 people – writers, journalists, scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, leaders of youth organizations. Based on the results of their work, a short list of 76 nominees will be formed.

In November, these nominees will take part in the face-to-face defense of their projects. Also, their work will be able to evaluate everyone in the framework of the popular online voting, which will be held on website Prizes 10 – 25 November.

A total of 22 laureates in 13 nominations will be determined. The solemn ceremony of presenting the Knowledge Prize will take place in December at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow.
