Ukrainian saboteurs detained in the south of Belarus give confessions. The head of the investigative department of the State Security Committee (KGB), Konstantin Bychek, announced this on the evening of Friday, February 16, on the Belarus 1 TV channel.
According to him, father and son Kabarchuk received the task of transporting weapons of destruction into the republic to carry out terrorist attacks from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Also, Bychek said, employees of the SBU and the State Border Service of Ukraine helped them get into the territory of the republic.
“A criminal case has been opened against the detainees under the article “preparation to commit an act of terrorism by an organized group” and the article “undercover activity,” said the head of the KGB Investigation Department, adding that the suspects are cooperating with the investigation and giving confessions.
The TV channel also showed a video of the interrogation of detained Ukrainians. According to them, the SBU proposed a deal according to which they would transfer the cargo to Belarus, and the criminal case against them would be closed in Ukraine.
Let us recall that on February 16, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that The counter-terrorism operation in the country has ended, saboteurs have been detained. The discovered explosive devices were intended to carry out terrorist attacks primarily on the territory of Russia and Belarus. Two Ukrainians and a Belarusian were named among the detainees.
