This weekend, the trophy-raid “Tselina” will take place in the Ulyanovsk district of the Kaluga region. Competitions have the status of the qualifying stage of the Cup of Regions and the Regional Cup of DOSAAF in trophy-raids. At the moment, the preliminary acceptance of applications has been completed. It is noteworthy that only a third of the participants are from Kaluga.
The neighborhood of the village of Krapivna was again chosen as the venue for the “Tselina”. In the fall, the Kaluga Region Governor’s Trophy Cup was held here, and the head of the administration of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexander Anisimov, during the awards ceremony, invited the athletes to return here in the spring right from the stage.
The format of the competition is a trophy-raid. This is an off-road competition in all-wheel drive vehicles. Participants will have to try to take the maximum number of 100 prepared points of the highest possible score in 6-9 hours (depending on the category).
Initially, “Tselina” was planned for two days, but due to the limited quorum, the organizers decided to make Saturday, May 27, the main competitive day.
“Thirty crews have submitted preliminary applications, of which only a third are Kaluga residents. No matter how hard we try to develop motor sports in Kaluga, unfortunately, more and more people come to us from other regions, even from afar. This year, Kursk, Lipetsk, That is, the Chernozem region. What is north of Moscow was before that. People travel from afar to the Kaluga region. He explained that this year there will be no famous “100-100” point, the maximum weight of checkpoints will be 50 points. Despite this, everything promises to be interesting, taking into account the peculiarities of the relief and weather conditions.
Crews will be divided into three sports and one amateur (Open) class, depending on the degree of preparation of the car. The most numerous category, judging by the applications, will be the TR-1, where cars with minor modifications, but already with one winch.
Registration of participants in the camp on this day will begin at six o’clock in the morning, at 09:40 a briefing will be held. The general start is scheduled for 10:00. All categories will finish no later than seven in the evening, after which the awards will take place.
