Edition RBC reports that the Japanese pharmaceutical company Astellas has decided to curtail the production of the antibiotic vilprafen in Russia.
As noted in the publication, the company did not explain the reasons for the decision. At the same time, according to RBC, the stocks of vilprafen in Russian hospitals will last for about six months.
It is noted that the international name of this antibiotic is josamycin. RBC information indicates that in the second half of December, supplies of this medicine almost ran out in Russia. The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation proposed replacing this drug with azithromycin, but patients may encounter resistance to it.
