About this on Wednesday, October 4, reported TASS in the organization.
Previously, the portal “Soviet Sport” published IOC statement that young athletes from Belarus and Russia will not be allowed to participate in the 2024 Games, which are to be held in the South Korean province of Gangwon-do. Upon request, the organization said that “no individual neutral athlete may participate” in next year’s Winter Youth Olympic Games. Let us remind you that according to the rules, athletes aged from 15 to 18 years compete in these competitions.
“At this stage, no individual neutral athlete is qualified to participate in the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon-do,” the IOC said in response to a TASS request. “No further decision was made.” The agency notes that the IOC responded to a similar request in the same way in August.
The previous Winter Youth Games took place in Switzerland, in the city of Lausanne, in January 2020. At that moment, the Russian team won the medal count, receiving 10 gold, 11 silver and 8 bronze awards.
