The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has charged Deputy General Director of the state corporation Roscosmos Oleg Frolov and his accomplices with large-scale fraud. This was reported in the press service of the department on Friday, December 22.
The Investigative Committee clarified that the investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Frolov, an individual entrepreneur and representative of a commercial organization, is involved in the case.
Investigators believe that the deputy head of the state corporation took advantage of his official position and entered into a conspiracy with accomplices, and then, during the implementation of a contract for the purchase of equipment, at least 435 million rubles of budget funds were stolen.
The court authorized the arrest of all three defendants, and the investigation continues.
A day earlier, the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow handed down a verdict in the case of former Minister of the Open Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Abyzov, who was charged with creating a criminal community, money laundering, illegal entrepreneurship and commercial bribery. Although the politician insisted on his innocence and the absence of victims, he received 12 years in prison and a fine of 80 million rubles.
