The international sports games “Children of Asia” were presented by the delegation of Yakutia at the exhibition “Russia”

On the Day of Yakutia, which took place as part of the exhibition-forum “Russia” in Moscow, Yakutia presented the VIII International Sports Games “Children of Asia”. Russia’s largest international sporting event will take place in 2024 in the capital of the republic. Young athletes from 25 countries will take part in it.

Gifted students, including students from sports schools, as well as famous ambassador athletes were invited to the presentation. As part of the event, new mascots of the Children of Asia Games were presented, the uniform and logo of the competition were demonstrated.

The head of Yakutia noted that the Children of Asia Games have reached the international level and have become one of the largest sports festivals in the country. Over the entire history of the Games, more than 15 thousand athletes took part in it, including many European and world champions, as well as Olympic champions. He assured that Yakutia will do everything to make the 2024 Games the best.

After the presentation, the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, and the President of the Russian Olympic Committee, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, entered into agreements on cooperation in the development of the Olympic movement.

President of the Russian Olympic Committee Stanislav Pozdnyakov said that in recent years the Children of Asia games have been held in Vladivostok, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Kemerovo. Next year they will return to their homeland. He noted that the competition will be held at a high organizational level, which will be facilitated by the experienced team of the International Committee of Children of Asia.

Certificates of the first ambassadors of the games were awarded to two-time Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov and Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Margarita Mamun.

Let us remind you that the International Sports Games “Children of Asia” are held every four years under the auspices of the International Committee “Children of Asia”. The Games started in 1996 and set a goal to develop children’s and youth sports and help strengthen international sports cooperation.

The program of the Games, which will take place from June 25 to July 7 next year, includes competitions in 24 sports. 224 sets of medals will be raffled off among the participants. The President of the Russian Federation noted that “Children of Asia” is one of the most interesting and successful projects in the field of children’s and youth sports, which united many talented children from different regions and countries.
