The incidence rate of coronavirus in Russia per 100,000 population over the past week decreased by 30.32% and amounted to 163.6, the operational headquarters said. An increase in the incidence was recorded in 34 regions, a decrease in 51 regions.

According to the headquarters, the incidence decreased most in Moscow (by 68.7%), Kirov region (67.3%), Krasnoyarsk region (65.8%) and Smolensk region (31.9%). Also, the hospitalization rate decreased by 24% – it amounted to 12.2.

Over the past day, 24,158 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Russia. This is 19.7% less than the day before (30,085). The number of daily hospitalizations was 1088, which is 21.3% less than the previous figure (1383).

Regions leading in the number of new cases:

  • St. Petersburg – 1750 (all time – 1,761,951),
  • Moscow – 1528 (3 201 502),
  • Chelyabinsk region – 947 (377 273),
  • Udmurtia – 916 (211 333),
  • Samara region – 896 (465 858).

During the day, 91 patients died in Russia, which is five people less than yesterday (96). Most of the dead were in Moscow (24) and St. Petersburg (15). The total number of deaths reached 387,559. 35,294 people recovered during the day, a total of 20,175,902.

Rospotrebnadzor last week informedthat the incidence of COVID-19 and other respiratory viral infections in Russia is rapidly declining. According to the head of the department, Anna Popova, this fall, the coronavirus behaves like “seasonal respiratory viruses that are quite familiar to us.”
