The incidence of coronavirus in Russia increased by 38.4% over the week. An increase in the number of infected people was recorded in 82 regions of the country, including 26 regions with an indicator higher than the average for the Russian Federation. This information was provided by the operational headquarters on Tuesday, November 21.
It is stated that during the reporting period, from November 13 to 19, the total number of hospitalizations in the country amounted to 6,398 people and increased by 16.9% compared to the previous period.
“An increase in the number of hospitalizations occurred in 55 regions of Russia, including in 20 regions more than the average for the Russian Federation,” the operational headquarters said.
At the same time, the number of recovered patients also increased - 39,731 people, which is 32.5% higher.
During the reporting period, 93 patients died.
Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that COVID-19 negatively affects human immunity and noted that the virus can live in the body even after recovery.
According to her, scientists are still arguing on this topic, but “they mostly agreed that the virus may not finally leave the body.”
