An elderly woman who fell on the Moscow Metro rails at the Tekstilshchiki station on the morning of December 5 was helped by caring foreign passengers. One of the volunteers told the details of what happened to the MK correspondent.
As MK learned, a terrible incident occurred with an elderly woman at the Tekstilshchiki station on the morning of December 5. The passenger collided with an unknown man and, losing her balance, fell onto the rails. Metro workers immediately warned the train driver about the fall, who, already approaching the station, managed to stop in time. Tragic consequences were avoided, but the woman received very serious injuries in the fall. Concerned passengers helped the victim climb onto the platform.
“I heard a subway worker screaming that a woman had fallen on the tracks. I wanted to help the fallen woman, to show humanity, so I ran up to a group of people, stood opposite the woman and tried to pull her up by her hands. At that moment, a man, it seems, African American, was helping her. He pushed her from below. After we got her out, she thanked us. The woman was conscious, but very scared, she could walk. Later, a police officer took me aside and we sorted out the documents. Then they let me go home,” said volunteer passenger, 24-year-old Nasim Kurbonov, a native of Tajikistan.
Nasim has been living in Moscow for 5 years, working at a construction site as a painter, and every month he sends money to his elderly mother and younger sister in Tajikistan. Over the years of work in the capital of Russia, the man has helped improve the financial situation of his family and is not going to stop there.
As for the second hero who jumped onto the rails, he chose to remain incognito and quickly fled the scene.
The victim herself was interviewed by police officers. According to her, she fell on the railway track due to her own negligence and has no claims against anyone. In a few weeks the woman will turn 69 years old.
