The IAEA will check the safety of fish caught near Fukushima

Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) took samples of fish caught off the coast of Fukushima to check its safety. TASS reports this with reference to the Japanese television channel NHK.
12 scientists took part in the study, including from Canada, South Korea and China. To collect samples, they visited the port in the city of Iwaki, which is located in Fukushima Prefecture.
Experts selected 70-kilogram batches of six different types of fish and packed them in containers with ice for shipment to the research facility in Chiba Prefecture and the participating countries.
Each country will now conduct its own analysis. All results will be compiled into a general report, which will be published later.
Let us recall that earlier the Japanese energy company TEPCO began the second stage of water discharge from the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.
