Abnormal heat will move this weekend from Europe to southern Turkey, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center. The cause was a “thermal explosion” in the Sahara desert. Up to +45°C is expected in Turkey, the water in the Mediterranean Sea will warm up to +26°C.
“While in Istanbul, in Ankara, in the north of Turkey, the temperature is about +35°C, then in the south, on the Mediterranean coast, it is from +40°C to +45°C this weekend, the water temperature is from +25°C to +26°C,” Mr. Vilfand said. “RIA News”.
The hydrometeorological center records an improvement in weather conditions in Western Europe, which previously faced near-record temperatures. Now in Germany and France the temperature is about +25°C. High temperatures persist in Spain (up to +40°C) and in southern Italy (up to +44°C).
