The representative of the Human Rights Council under the President, Valery Fadeev, said that provocations in the form of burning the Koran are unacceptable, but there are rules for detaining the accused. He also commented video published by Ramzan Kadyrov showing the beating of the Koran arsonist.

Fadeev noted that burning the Koran is a serious crime that must be punished in accordance with the law. He stressed that such provocations are unacceptable in a country with many religions and denominations. This information was reported by the Telegram channel of the Human Rights Council.

At the same time, the head of the Council also noted that there are rules for the detention of accused and suspects that must be strictly observed. He expressed hope for a fair trial against the person accused of burning the Koran.

Human Rights Council member Marina Akhmedova also responded to the video. In her Telegram channel, she wrote: “Despite my gratitude to Kadyrov for his help in the North Caucasus, I do not agree with the beating of a person who is in a defenseless state. This outrages me.” She also emphasized that no insults to religion justify breaking the law and that the punishment should be established by the court, and not by Kadyrov’s son. She also expressed the view that it is unacceptable to take advantage of a person’s vulnerability to harm him.
