The daily record of 1969 was broken in Moscow – the air at the main metropolitan weather station warmed up to 30.3 degrees. This follows from data on the website of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.
Forecasters predict that today the temperature in some places will rise to 31-33 degrees.
The previous temperature record for August 26 in Moscow was reached in 1969 – then the air warmed up to 28.9 degrees. The absolute temperature record of the day for 143 years of observation belongs to August 26, 1938, when the temperature rose to 35.3 degrees.
A day earlier, August 25, in Moscow registered the maximum air temperature for 34 years, it amounted to 30.8 degrees.
