The head of Yakutia is confident that the Children of Asia games will be held at a high level

Aisen Nikolaev claims that the international sports competitions “Children of Asia” in the republic will be held at the highest level, according to information from the Yakutia 24 portal.

The head of the republic today, January 31, summed up the results of the month in the program “Yakutia, forward!”, where he discussed the holding of this year’s grandiose event – the international sports games “Children of Asia”.

The Children of Asia competition is the largest international competition in Russia in 2024. Among children, the competition will be the largest. At least 20-25 countries are expected to participate,” said Aisen Nikolaev.

He said that the preparation of sports facilities is going according to plan. Renovation of some structures has already been completed, while renovation work is actively underway in others.

“We hope that the main work will be completed by May. We are confident that everything will be completed on time. Work on the improvement of Yakutsk will begin, but preparatory work is already underway. The authorities of Yakutsk are working with the citizens and I am confident that we will achieve a positive result “An important area is the preparation of accommodation and meals for athletes. Our main partner in this is NEFU. We met with Rector Anatoly Nikolaev this week and discussed several issues that require immediate resolution,” noted the head of the region.

Aisen Nikolaev emphasized that an important part is the ceremony of lighting the fire.

“It will start soon. We expect that on March 19 the fire will be lit on the Lena Pillars. During the ceremony, which is traditionally held, there will be a sports competition. A hockey match is expected, although hockey is not included in the program of the summer games, but it’s all the same interesting – this is an action that will draw attention to Yakutia, the Lena Pillars and the games themselves,” concluded the head of Yakutia.
