The head of the administration of the Vasilyevsky district, Natalya Romanichenko, said that the flow of refugees from Ukraine has almost doubled through the checkpoint in Vasilyevsky.
She clarified that administration officials support people who are in line at the checkpoint. They distribute food parcels and drinking water to them.
“At the moment, the flow from Ukraine has seriously increased. Some people want to move to our side from Ukraine. They are afraid of atrocities on the part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in relation to those who supported the Russian government. If earlier about 500-700 vehicles returned to the liberated territories, now there are thousands of them a day,” Romanichenko said.
According to her, people are returning from Donetsk and Lugansk regions, from Mariupol. In turn, the authorities of Vasilyevka are ready to provide them with housing and provide them with housing.
