The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences noted the very rapid development of unique body armor for the Northern Military District
During the special operation, Russian scientists managed to very quickly develop new materials from which body armor, unique in its protective properties, was created. The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Gennady Krasnikov, spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Earlier, during a gala evening dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, President Vladimir Putin thanked scientists for effectively solving issues of the country’s defense capability, including solving the problem with body armor.
Krasnikov confirmed that the main merit of the scientists was the rapid development, using the latest advances, new materials with minimal weight and maximum armor protection.
The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences also said that now there are almost no areas left in the field of defense and security in which representatives of the academic school would not participate. According to him, almost half of the general technologists, general designers and heads of departments are members of the Academy of Sciences.
