Kirill Dmitriev announced this at the “Minerals of the Future” forum in Saudi Arabia. According to the head of the RDIF, it is necessary to develop and create new structures and instruments, in particular, the BRICS+ investment fund, which could finance various international projects in the relevant industries of the BRICS+ countries.
In addition, according to the head of the RDIF, it is necessary to create a new platform for trading carbon units, which will be focused on the BRICS+ countries and developing countries that are leaders in terms of mineral resources in the regions of Africa, the Middle East, Central and East Asia.
“Individually, most countries do not have the full range of capabilities for effective competition along the entire chain of creation of environmentally friendly energy technologies,” said Kirill Dmitriev. “It is through combining efforts that Russia, the countries of the Middle East, Asia and Africa will have the opportunity to increase competitiveness in the global market and overcome existing obstacles.”
Dmitriev noted the need to increase investment in the creation of high-tech infrastructure for the extraction and processing of raw materials, as well as the delivery of final products to consumers, and called on investors in the mining industry to invest jointly with the Russian Federation in global infrastructure projects.
