Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw and All Poland wished Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ the “destruction of evil” in Ukraine. This is stated in his letter of congratulations on the occasion of the 14th anniversary of Kirill’s enthronement.
Savva stated that during the patriarchate of Kirill, the Russian Orthodox Church “shone with spiritual revival” and that she serves as an example for others. He stated that the enemies do not like church stability and seek to destroy it, and what happened in Ukraine is a clear example of this.
“We deeply believe that the evil that destroys the divine church organism will be destroyed by the conqueror of death and hell, Christ,” the metropolitan wrote.
Recall, on December 1, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky put into effect the decision of the National Security Council of Ukraine, which, in fact, banned the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In particular, Zelensky instructed to submit to the Rada a bill on a ban on religious organizations “affiliated with centers of influence in the Russian Federation”, as well as to conduct an examination of the Charter of the UOC for the presence of a church-canonical connection with the Moscow Patriarchate.
