[ad_1]
The Federation Council approved a law on mandatory genomic registration for convicts serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty. DNA registration will also affect all those suspected and charged with crimes and administratively arrested.
Genomic registration will be carried out by the bodies of preliminary investigation and bodies of inquiry together with units of the internal affairs bodies or the Investigative Committee of Russia.
Convicts, defendants and suspects may request the destruction of their genomic information in the event of a right to rehabilitation. To do this, they will have to submit an application to the internal affairs body. People under administrative arrest may also request the deletion of data in the event of an annulment of a court order for an administrative offense.
