In the Moscow region, the former head of the police department, who took bribes with wheels, spare parts and cash, was sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime colony. On June 27, the Basmanny Court of Moscow issued a verdict in a criminal case against the former head of the department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region. He was found guilty of accepting a bribe for general patronage and connivance in the service, with extortion of a bribe on a large scale.

As it became known to MK, the man, alternately holding the positions of head of department and deputy head of department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Moscow Region, from April 2017 to March 2019, helped to resolve personnel changes. In particular, assistance in agreeing on candidates for appointment and dismissal in the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Leninsky district of the Moscow region. As bribes, he received wheel rims and accessories for them, and also accepted “thanks” in banknotes. In total, in this way, the corrupt policeman received a total of more than 1 million 300 thousand rubles in spare parts, disks and cash. In addition to the conclusion, the court ordered the former law enforcement officer to pay a fine of 3 million rubles. He is also deprived of the right to hold positions in the state and municipal service for a period of 7 years. The ex-police officer was also stripped of the special rank of “police lieutenant colonel”. The criminal case against one of those who gave bribes was separated into a separate proceeding. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison – suspended.
