The Honored Worker of Physical Culture of Russia died at the age of 83.
According to the regional administration, at the age of 82, Viktor Ivanov, Honored Worker of Physical Culture of Russia, Chairman of the Olympic Council of the region and member of the Public Chamber of the Volgograd Region, passed away.
Governor Andrei Bocharov expressed condolences to the family and friends of Viktor Ivanov.
Let us note that Viktor Ivanov played an important role in training professional athletes and popularizing the Olympic movement in our region. He went from a school teacher to the head of all sports in the Volgograd region. His successful work was marked by various awards, including the medal “For Services to the Volgograd Region.”
The farewell ceremony is scheduled for March 2.
