14 thousand Yaroslavl residents successfully passed the GTO standards

Head of State Vladimir Putin stated that the development of the sports industry should actively continue. He said this as part of his speech to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Over the next six years, an additional 65 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal treasury for the development of this industry. This money will be used to build at least 350 sports facilities in small towns and villages every year.

– In our region, active work is underway to improve the material and technical base of the sports industry. We are building new sports facilities both in Yaroslavl and in municipal areas,” noted Vera Dargel, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Yaroslavl Region. “This systematic work allowed us to achieve good results in 2023.” Almost 560 thousand residents of the region aged 3 to 79 regularly engage in physical education and sports.

Thanks to the federal project “Business Sprint”, implemented in the Yaroslavl region by the regional executive authorities, in 2023, 3 smart sports grounds were built in the region. And today they are very popular, especially among young people. New sports facilities were built in the village of Shchedrino, Yaroslavl district, in the left bank part of Tutaev and on Bolshaya Norskaya street in Yaroslavl. And in Myshkin an indoor hockey court “Iceberg” appeared – it started operating in 2022. And a year ago, at the end of winter 2023, a new sports and recreation center opened its doors in Pereslavl-Zalessky. Last September – another sports and recreation center with a multi-purpose hall, two swimming pools and an ice skating rink on Panina Street in the regional center. This year, the construction of a couple more sports facilities should be completed: a volleyball center on Frunze Avenue in Yaroslavl and an ice arena in Tutaev.

The year 2023 was also marked by the fact that two specialized sports grounds were finally opened in the Nekrasovsky and Myshkinsky districts to prepare the population for passing the GTO standards. And today there are similar facilities in every district of the region. They were erected under the federal project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”, implemented in the region by the regional government.

Vladimir Putin noted that from 2025, anyone who can successfully pass the GTO standards will have the right to receive a tax deduction. Over the past year, more than 32 thousand Yaroslavl residents underwent testing according to the GTO complex. At the same time, 14 thousand people passed the standards for various insignia.

As the regional government reported with reference to the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex of the GTO sports club “Burevestnik – Upper Volga”, everyone can pass the standards of the GTO complex. At the moment, there are 26 testing centers in the Yaroslavl region. Moreover, you don’t even have to travel far – they work in every district. And the number of local residents who received “gold” for passing the standards has increased significantly.
