The head of the Berezovsky district of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra (KhMAO), Pavel Arteev, admitted that he was detained by traffic police officers due to drunk driving. He spoke about this on his page in “In contact with”.
According to Mr. Arteev, this happened on the night of November 25 in the village of Berezovo. He was driving his car drunk, after which he was stopped by police officers. “I am doubly guilty before you that, as an official who is entrusted to represent your interests and work for the benefit of the people, he showed an example of unworthy behavior,” he said.
Pavel Arteev also added that he is ready to suffer the punishment provided for by law. In the comments to the publication, local residents thanked the head of the district for his honesty.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug “Kommersant-Ural” confirmed that an accident had occurred, but did not specify the names. “On November 25, at night, the duty station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Berezovsky district received a message that a car was in a ditch on Shmidt Street. During the inspection, it was found that the driver, born in 1986, lost control and drove into a ditch. The man refused to undergo a medical examination,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
As reported “Kommersant-Ural” in the district administration, Mr. Arteev was expelled from the United Russia party after an accident.
