In Russia, it is necessary to establish an institute that would control the activities of corporations in the country in the field of information technology. This proposal was made on Monday, December 4, by the Chairman of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, Valery Fadeev, during a meeting of the Human Rights Council with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The head of the HRC emphasized that it is necessary to create an institute to monitor the work of Google and other companies in this profile in order to ensure the information security of Russian Internet users.
It was previously reported that Russian media and telecom operators will be required to comply new information security requirements, which were developed by the Ministry of Digital Development. They will begin to operate in 2025.
