The head of the Human Rights Council, Fadeev, proposed to give benefits to the wives of migrants only if they speak Russian

The head of the Human Rights Council (HRC) under the President of Russia, Valery Fadeev, proposed that allowances be given to wives of migrants only if they know the Russian language. He expressed this opinion during a meeting with the Governor of the Kaluga Region Vladislav Shapsha, who has repeatedly put forward initiatives to combat illegal migration.

According to the HRC press service, the participants of the meeting on migration pointed out that many wives of migrants do not know Russian and do not want to learn it. In the future, this has a bad effect on the adaptation of their children in Russian schools. “If you want to receive social benefits, be kind, learn Russian! We can be accused of attacking their rights. But this is the protection of the rights of Russian citizens. This is the need of society, ”said Valery Fadeev (quoted from Telegram– channel SCH).

During the meeting, the head of the HRC declaredthat the reduction in the number of migrants and the number of crimes in the country is the merit of the Kaluga region and, in particular, Vladislav Shapsha. Mr. Fadeev said that he, together with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Education and other departments who were also present at the meeting, wants to study the experience of Mr. Shapshi.

“We want to figure out what is the benefit of attracting migrants, is there any and how much we have to pay for it. How many migrants do we need? There are different numbers – from 5 million to 200 thousand. Do we need a workforce or will we organize resettlement in Russia? Mr. Fadeev asked questions. According to him, the experience of the Kaluga region in combating illegal migration should be extended to the whole of Russia.

In February 2022, Vladislav Shapsha announced the withdrawal of the Kaluga Region from the program to promote the resettlement of compatriots. This statement was made after Mr. Shapsha made an unscheduled visit to the migration center in the Borovsky district of the city and talked with a migrant who received a certificate of knowledge of the language, but did not understand Russian. Governor also imposed a ban to attract migrants to work in the areas of trade, passenger transportation and catering. February 13 of this year, Governor offered without a court decision to deprive Russian citizenship of people who obtained it illegally.
