German Foreign Minister hid in a shelter for 20 minutes during a trip to Odessa

German Foreign Minister Annalena Bärbock was forced to go into hiding for almost 20 minutes during a visit to Odessa, TASS reports citing the DPA agency.

Reportedly, during her stay in Odessa, an air raid alert was announced.

On Saturday it was reported that Burbock had unexpectedly arrived in Odessa, and the visit had not been announced in advance for security reasons. The article notes that the German diplomat arrived on a visit together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba.

Earlier, the head of the German Foreign Ministry, speaking about sanctions against Russia, said: “None of us believed when we started introducing sanctions that this would stop the invasion. It’s just that sanctions are important.” The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, in response was amazed at the “amazing lack of education and outright narrow-mindedness” of Berbock, noting that she is not the only one – there are hundreds and hundreds of them in EU governments.
