The head of Rospotrebnadzor announced a weekly decrease in the number of measles cases in Russia
There are fewer and fewer cases of measles in Russia. The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. She clarified that the number of cases has been decreasing weekly for a month and a half in a row.
At the same time, Popova noted a good rate of vaccination against measles. At this point, the total number of vaccinated people approached one million.
An increase in the incidence of measles in Russia has been observed since the beginning of the year. In the first months, more than a thousand cases of the disease were diagnosed.
Experts said that the rise in the incidence of measles is associated with a period of cyclicity characteristic of the disease. At the same time, the risk of a measles epidemic, emphasized in Rospotrebnadzor, is completely excluded, there is no need for restrictive measures.
