The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that the agency is observing an increase in the incidence of COVID-19. At the same time, she noted that the current indicators were predicted: from the second half of August in large cities, and then in other regions.
“A distinctive feature of this season’s increase in incidence is the low number of hospitalizations. Which in itself inspires a certain optimism,” said “RIA News” Mrs. Popova.
September 19 Rospotrebnadzor reported, which does not plan to introduce restrictive measures amid the growing incidence of coronavirus. Restrictions may be introduced in institutions, but there is no basis for a general mask regime, the department added.
Meanwhile, authorities in several regions announced the resumption of the mask regime. This time it is designed to stop the spread of not only coronavirus, but also ARVI and influenza. Last week, the incidence increased by 48%, to 11.5 thousand cases. The proportion of people hospitalized during the same time increased by 20%. Rospotrebnadzor attributed this increase to seasonality.
