The head of Komi announced the refusal of local carriers from symbols in support of the Northern Military District

Governor of the Komi Republic Vladimir Uyba said that he had instructed all government agencies to hang signs in support of the military operation in Ukraine. He said local carriers refused to do this because they were afraid of attacks on their vehicles.
“I instructed all government agencies to support our guys and hang up these signs. But the carriers who carry passengers for our money tell me that they will not do this. I ask why? They answer: “What if someone breaks the glass!” This means that the guys are dying there, and we are afraid that they will break our glass,” the governor wrote in his Telegram channel.
The head of the region said that many military personnel returning to Komi from the front have questions about why there is not a single banner in the republic with local “defenders of the Fatherland.” According to the governor, local businesses refuse to post such banners.
“We asked one such “businessman” to hang up at least one banner about our defenders of the Fatherland. Hung it up. On Gabov Square. 2 thousand rubles per day for 20 days. And exactly 20 days later he took it off,” wrote Vladimir Uyba. The head of the region said that this advertiser is not a patriot or a citizen of Russia and that for him “profit is more important.”
After the outbreak of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, symbols began to spread in Russia supporting the actions of the Russian army – the Latin letters Z and V, the inscriptions “For ours,” “For Russia,” “For Victory,” etc. At the same time, incidents of arson and damage to cars with similar symbols.
So, in February of this year, the court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced a married couple to almost three years for setting fire to a car with a Z symbol. In October in Orel was initiated a criminal case regarding the desecration of symbols of Russian military glory due to the fact that a local resident painted over graffiti in the form of a St. George ribbon, made in the shape of the letter Z.
