The head of headquarters of the marine brigade that participated in the battles for Mariupol died

The funeral of Lieutenant Colonel Yan Sukhanov, chief of staff of the 810th separate marine brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, took place in Sevastopol. Under his leadership, the unit participated in the battles for Mariupol and the Azovstal plant, reported Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev.
Sukhanov graduated from the Far Eastern Higher Command School with honors in 2002 and served in Sevastopol, where he reached the position of chief of staff and deputy commander of a separate brigade. He also served in air assault and reconnaissance units, took part in combat operations in Syria and was awarded the Order of Courage.
According to Razvozhaev, Sukhanov was wounded during the battles in Mariupol, after which he was hospitalized in Moscow. There he was diagnosed with a serious illness that prevented him from recovering from his injuries.
