The head of headquarters of the 810th Marine Brigade, Sukhanov, a participant in the battles for Mariupol, has died

The chief of staff of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, Guard Lieutenant Colonel Yan Sukhanov, was buried in Sevastopol. As Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said, he was wounded in Mariupol and was being treated in a hospital in Moscow, where he was diagnosed with “another insidious disease that did not allow the body to cope with the injuries received.”

Mr. Razvozhaev announced the funeral the day before, November 13, in the evening at Telegram. On November 8, the obituary was published on website All-Russian public organization of marines “Typhoon”. It was alleged that Mr. Sukhanov died in the Burdenko hospital; he was 43 years old.

Since February 24, 2022, he was in the zone of military operation. Under his leadership, the 810th Brigade took part in the battles for Mariupol and took control of Azovstal.

Yan Sukhanov was born in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on November 25, 1977. In 2002 he graduated from the Far Eastern Higher Command School with honors. He was appointed to Sevastopol, where he served all his life. He served in air assault and reconnaissance units, rising from platoon commander to chief of staff – deputy commander of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade. As Mr. Razvozhaev writes, “I was on a business trip” in Syria. He has awards, including the Order of Courage.
