Dagestan will soon end conscription within the framework of partial mobilization, said the head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov in his Telegram channel. The head of the region recalled the problems that emerged during the mobilization.
“There were mistakes when they called on those who have the right to deferment or who do not fall under the categories defined by the presidential decree at all. Including thanks to your signals and coordinated actions of the authorities, we managed to establish a mechanism for the return of mistakenly mobilized Dagestanis. Naturally, their places are now occupied by those who are subject to conscription,” he addressed the residents of the republic. “We will complete this work in the near future.”
The authorities of Dagestan did not report the number of erroneously mobilized. According to the local branch of the ONF, at least seven cases were recorded in the republic when those called on the agenda after the proceedings were returned home. On September 25, a protest action was held in Makhachkala against Russia’s actions in Ukraine and partial mobilization. Mr. Melikov spokethat these actions were organized from abroad.
Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that 300,000 people were planned to be drafted across Russia. The number of conscripts in Dagestan is unknown. Russian President Vladimir Putin last week declaredthat the mobilization will be completed within two weeks.
